THE
VILLAGE

Our lower Fifth Avenue client loves color and isn't afraid to experiment with palettes or pattern. In early 2019, she purchased this elegantly laid out classic six in what was almost its original pre-war state. A full gut renovation ensued, and the reimagined apartment was completed in early 2020. Our client knew she wanted to restore many of the classic prewar elements, but she also wished for a home that was better suited for her modern living needs.

Previously living uptown (in a BMD-designed apartment), the client wished to keep some key furniture pieces that we knew would work well in her new downtown home.  We took the opportunity to reupholster some, keep a few as is, and add in new custom pieces, vintage findings, and design classics to make her new apartment come to life.

The kitchen, by Bulthaup, is elegant and modern, and the living room is perfectly planned for cocktail parties and entertaining.  Custom millwork in daring paint colors, bold wall coverings, saturated fabrics, and a curated art selection play a key role in making this home unique and perfectly suited for its owner.
