With offices in both NYC and the Hamptons, Bella Mancini Design’s team is made up of some of New York’s most creative, technical, and organized designers dedicated to the belief that the design process should be incredibly fun and never intimidating. This core culture ensures we create thoughtfully designed homes where clients and their families can live, entertain, and unwind in comfortable, laid-back luxury.

With twenty-three years of experience in everything from gut renovations to ground-up builds, we take a holistic approach to modern living and come to the table with a roster of trusted architects, contractors, art advisors, and landscape designers. We take pride in approaching each project with fresh eyes, guiding the client through our comprehensive design program consisting of three purposeful phases. The first allows us to delve into our client’s stories, unearthing their wishes and dreams for their home. Next, we illustrate how their vision can come to life using our unique “always list” of rich textural stories, sophisticated colors, a studied mix of vintage and new, and the custom goods that we are known for. In the final phase, we deliver a meticulously curated haven that is an elevated, inspired, and detailed version of who they are and how they live.

This unique approach has made our projects and relationships fulfilling and successful, and we are proud to have many of our clients return to collaborate on additional projects while they continue to refer the vast majority of our business today.

BMD works regularly on homes in New York City, the Tri-state area, and the Hamptons, and has completed projects in Miami, Los Angeles, and Austin.

I was born and raised in Southern California but have called New York home for over twenty-five years.  I started my design firm in 2000 and have developed a roster of new and repeat residential clients spanning the Tri-state area to Florida, Texas, and beyond.

Our approach is totally hands-on and personal, and our firm is dedicated to making sure our client’s home is beautiful, but also totally comfortable and livable.  We have successfully assembled full architectural and building teams for ground up construction but love a straightforward decorating project as well.  My staff is made up of some of New York’s most dedicated, thoughtful and talented designers who are experts in what they do.  

We feel an organized project is key to a project’s success and we have many systems in place to make sure of it.

  • BELLA ZAKARIAN MANCINI

    Principal | Creative Director

    After growing up in Southern California, I moved to San Francisco to earn my degree in Clothing and Textiles. Soon after, I left for New York City to pursue a career in fashion. For three years I worked in various PR and Marketing roles before putting my education and experience to work in a new field. Always a lover of interior design, I attended NYSID while working as a design assistant at a boutique firm. Two years later I started my company. Over the past 23 years my clientele and I have grown together. I am now not only a businesswoman, but also a wife and mother who understands the fast pace of life – especially living in New York City. In the summer of 2021 my husband and I carried out a plan we made long ago to move our family to the beautiful Hamptons. I divide my time between Sag Harbor and New York City, where my office has been in the same Union Square building since the beginning.

    I have a deep love of textiles, things that look and feel handmade and a mix of old and new. I am deeply invested in the relationship aspect of each project and work tirelessly to make sure each of our clients feels listened to and valued.

  • TARYN BURNS

    Studio Director | Senior Designer

    Also born and raised in Southern California, Taryn moved to New York City to study Communications and Art History at NYU. With an emerging interest in interiors, Taryn began exploring the field through internships at House Beautiful and various design firms. In 2011 she was introduced to Bella Mancini through a mutual friend and was immediately hired as a design assistant. Over the past 11 years Taryn has worked in various positions and was promoted to Studio Director in 2017. She oversees each Bella Mancini Design project and team member with her uniquely thoughtful and thorough working style.

    Taryn’s interest in art, craft and history informs her perspective on interiors. Her favorite projects are those filled with texture: art, antiques, personal collections and a sense of soulfulness. Taryn lives in Brooklyn with her husband and children.

  • ALEXANDRA CAMPOLONGO

    Senior Designer

    Alex earned a BFA in Interior Design from Moore College of Art and Design in 2015 and cut her teeth in some of New York’s most rigorous design offices. We are thrilled that Alex joined Bella Mancini Design in 2017 and has flourished in her role ever since.

    A skilled draftswoman, Alex creates beautiful drawings and renders for all our interior projects. She is a thoughtful designer who is always willing to pitch in to help get the job done and her expert communication and management skills make her a well-rounded and beloved member of our team.

  • KAT KLENSCH

    Project Manager

    Kat joined Bella Mancini Design during the summer of 2021. Originally moving to NYC to pursue a career in dance, after a few years Kat decided to refocus her creative energy to the interior design industry. As our Project Manager, she is the lady with all the information. Kat is integral to each project by utilizing highly organized systems for purchasing, tracking and installations. She ensures that each project comes together as seamlessly as possible with her can-do attitude and enthusiasm for her important role in each project’s success.

    Kat’s watchful eye keeps both our designers and clients up to speed on all aspects of a job to ensure they are running smoothly and on time. We are enormously lucky to have her as part of our team.
